Each year, people who give up their time and work for other locals in Warsaw’s Wola district are awarded the “Person of good will” prize (in Polish, “will” translates as “wola”, so the name of this prize has a double meaning).
We were asked to design the diploma or some kind of a medal, but after some brainstorming with the client we decided to go in a different direction. Everyone has the potential to become a person of a good will – you just need to discover it, sometimes small things are big enough to be recognized and important for your local society. Our design finally took the form of a simple mirror with a badge on its surface – once you look in the mirror, you become a wearer of this badge of honour. So every day you can check – am I still a person of a good will? Or you can invite others to look into the mirror and ask themselves the same question. We designed and produced 50 such awards. People who received theirs were happy to see themselves as good natured folk.
